The area known as Riviera Maya extends a full 86 miles and is situated in the Quintana Roo state. This sits on the Yucatan Peninsula's northeast coast, one of Mexico's true beauty spots. The continental portion features a semi-tropical climate, with average temperatures of 26 degrees Celsius, sometimes reaching 35 degrees Celsius in summer. The highest temperatures on record have occurred in May and August. September through October is the rainy season.
