Michoacan Coast

The Pacific coast of Michoacan is a hidden Jewel

The Pacific coast of Michoacan is one of the least visited in Mexico, but it’s stunning! It has countless untouched, golden beaches. The most famous of them is Playa Maruata. Maruata is a tranquil fishing village with some pristine beaches, which are barely discovered by mainstream tourism. Its landmark is “God’s Finger,” a rock formation rising from the sea. This is also the place where black sea turtles lay their eggs.

Another place to visit on the coast is Playa Azul, which is probably the village with more tourism infrastructure in the region. It’s an excellent place for swimming, surfing, or wildlife spotting.
