Parque las Palapas is a great spot to visit if you’re wanting to experience the local culture. During the evenings, and particularly on weekends, this is where the locals enjoy family time.
Try out delicious food like esquites, churros and marquesitas, or some of the local favorites such as empanadas, gordita, sopes or quesadillas.
Buy beautiful local handicrafts that are displayed on wooden carts. Hang out and enjoy dance productions, fashion shows, exhibitions, and live musical performances.
You can get there from the Hotel Zone. Take the R1 bus and jump out at the Palacio Municipal. Cross Tulum avenue and enter the Tulipanes Pedestrian street, walk a block, and you will find the park.
