The Zócalo also referred to as Plaza de la Constitución, is the city’s main square, as well as it represents the historic heart. With a measurement of 57600 square meters, it is one of the biggest main squares in the world. It is in the center of the most important historic buildings that the city has to offer, such as the Palacio Nacional or the Catedral Metropolitana. The immense Mexican flag that graces the square is lowered every day at 6 pm. It is worth taking a walk and simply enjoying the people, the street artists, and the enclosing buildings that altogether make the Zócalo one of the most exciting places in Mexico City.
