The National Museum of Anthropology

One of the most impressive museums in America

Located in the Chapultepec area, The National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City is probably the most famous museum of the City and one of the most extensive.

There are 24 halls. Each one deals with one of the cultures that flourished in Mexican territory hundreds of years ago: the Olmec Room, the Teotihuacan Room, the Mayan Room, and the Mexican Room, among others of equal importance. Apart from showing unique pieces of pre-Hispanic art, this museum also has reproductions of some of the most outstanding Mesoamerica buildings, which could take days to visit.

The architecture and the exceptional collection of this museum make it one of the world’s most outstanding.

Admire the famous Aztec calendar stone, models of Tenochtitlán, a fascinating marketplace diorama, giant stone Olmec heads from the jungles of Tabasco and Veracruz, and many other exotic treasures.
