Tour’s Program

Travel like a local - Travel like a Mexican in a comfortable first class bus

Mexico City – To know Mexico you need to know Mexico’s capital, one of the world’s largest and most exciting cities.

Oaxaca – A colonial gem, famous for its extraordinary crafts and gastronomy.

Palenque – The mystical home of legendary Mayan King Pakal, guarded by howler monkeys who inhabit the surrounding jungle.

Chichen Itza – One of the Seven New World Wonders, a must-see on every trip to Mexico.

Cancun – Find your paradise on the white-sandy beaches and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean.
You will be amazed by the size of the city from the moment you arrive. Meet and greet with a local representative and transfer to your hotel. As the country´s capital, the "Distrito Federal" is a mosaic of contrasts but most of all an experience in which all of Mexico comes together. It’s the perfect place to start your trip in Mexico.
Today you have the whole day to explore Mexico City. Built in the 16th century by the Spanish on the ruins of Tenochtitlan, the old Aztec capital, Mexico City is now one of the world's largest and most densely populated cities. We suggest to start your day in the historical centre, listed by UNESCO as World Heritage. Here you could visit the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the Alameda Central, the "Plaza de la Constitucion" (better known as the "Zocalo"), the murals by Diego Riviera at the Palacio Nacional, the impressive Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Aztec ruins of the Templo Mayor. Make sure you don´t miss the beautiful Paseo de la Reforma Avenue, with the iconic Monument for the Independence ("El Angel"). Reforma Avenue leads you to Chapultepec Park. In pre-Hispanic times a summer residence for the noble class of the Aztecs, now it is Mexico City’s largest park and one of the largest city parks in the world. It contains lakes, a zoo, several important monuments, a theme park, and a couple of excellent museums. The most prominent of these museums is the Museum of Anthropology. This museum (closed on Mondays) is considered one of the finest of its kind in the world and the best place to learn about Mexican culture and pre-Hispanic history. If you want to make sure you won´t miss the must-see-places, or if you want to discover some hidden spots, please contact us for Mexico City´s most exciting tours.
Included: Breakfast
Full day at leisure, to explore more of this vibrant city. Visit, for example, the astonishing pyramids of Teotihuacan and the Shrine of Guadalupe, or take a trip through the colorful canals of Xochimilco on a traditional "trajinera". Alternatively, visit Coyoacan, a beautiful and tranquil district, with colonial architecture and the atmosphere of a small village. Visit “La Casa Azul de Frida Kahlo”, the famous house/museum of the modernist Frida Kahlo. Many more options are available. Please contact us for Mexico City´s most exciting tours.
Included: Breakfast
Today you leave the big city behind. Now the real adventure starts. Pick up in the morning for a transfer to Mexico City´s bus terminal "TAPO". Board a first class bus to Oaxaca. Don´t worry about the travel time (approx. 6.5 hours), the beautiful landscapes will keep you entertained. Upon arrival, take a cab to your hotel in downtown Oaxaca. After checking-in, head into town and get a first taste of this wonderful city. Try some typical local food!
Included: Breakfast
Enjoy a free day in Oaxaca. The founding of this city, in colonial times the most important town of southern Mexico, dates back to 1529. It is considered one of Mexico’s most beautiful colonial cities. Oaxaca’s colorful historic centre has been well preserved and it has been listed by UNESCO as World Heritage. Fortunately, the town has also retained many indigenous traditions which can still be seen today. Its cultural richness is not only reflected by some fascinating museums, magnificent religious monuments, and a lovely zocalo (main square), but also by its enormous variety of iconic crafts and its widely renowned gastronomy. We would recommend a visit to the market "20 de Noviembre", a real treat for the senses. Try some "chapulines"! Contact us for tours in Oaxaca, in case you want to see more of the city and its surroundings (among the interesting places nearby are the interesting archaeological sites of Monte Alban and Mitla, the Tule tree, the mineral springs of Hierve El Agua, and charming little crafts villages).
Included: Breakfast
Enjoy Oaxaca for another full day (optional tours available), before taking a night bus to San Cristobal de las Casas. Try to get some rest during this journey (approx. 11 hours).
Included: Breakfast
Early morning arrival in San Cristobal de las Casas. We will arrange an early check-in at hotel, so you can take a little rest and breakfast. San Cristobal de las Casas is situated in a fertile valley surrounded by mountains in the southern state of Chiapas. Chiapas is home to several indigenous groups descending from the Maya, who inhabit the highland villages surrounding San Cristobal. The indigenous people of Chiapas speak their own language (often in addition to Spanish), practice their own unique customs and can be identified by their traditional dress. Take a stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets of San Cristobal, one of Mexico’s best-preserved colonial towns. Walk past brightly painted houses, beautiful churches, and colorful shops and markets. The town can easily be explored on foot. Several of the main streets in the centre of the town are closed for traffic and converge on the central park or zocalo (main plaza). With its laid-back, bohemian atmosphere, you can spend hours browsing the shops and artisans’ markets. Alternatively, take a trip to one of the nearby villages to see where the crafts are made. Several interesting day trips from San Cristobal are available. These include visits to the outlying highland villages of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan, the spectacular Sumidero Canyon, the waterfalls of Agua Azul and Misol-Ha, and the Lakes of Montebello. Contact us for tours departing from San Cristobal.
Included: Breakfast
Free day to further explore the magical town of San Cristobal de las Casas and its surroundings. You can do it either by yourself or you can join one of our interesting tours.
Included: Breakfast
In the morning, go to the bus terminal (order a taxi in the hotel) and take a bus to Palenque (approx. 5 hours). Travel through lush jungle before arriving in Palenque, famous for its archaeological zone, one of the most important sites of the ancient Mayan World. Upon arrival, rest of the day at leisure.
Included: Breakfast
It´s a must to visit the archaeological zone of Palenque (suggested time for visit: 08:00am), surrounded by jungle, and one of the most important sites of the Mayan World. It was inside the Pyramid of the Inscriptions where King Pakal’s sarcophagus and its carved gravestone were found. Enjoy the impressive structures as well as the breathtaking natural environment of this World Heritage Site. Take your time to explore the site. You can choose to visit the site by yourself, or join a guided tour, to learn more about the meaning of this iconic place (contact us for options). Rest of the day at leisure.
Included: Breakfast
In the morning, take a bus to the coastal town of Campeche (approx. 5 hours), the place where the Spanish conquerors first set foot on Mexican soil. After arriving, time to explore the walled city of Campeche, listed by UNESCO as World Heritage. Discover Campeche's main attractions, including colonial houses, fortresses, museums, and traditional neighborhoods.
Included: Breakfast
Full day at leisure in Campeche. Campeche is a captivating port town full of naval history, baroque Spanish architecture, and aging beauty. Campeche’s prosperity as a thriving port town made it a frequent target for attacks by English, French and Dutch pirates. For this reason, impressive defensive walls were built around the town. UNESCO cited Campeche as “a model of the city planning of a baroque colonial city". Campeche has spent the past few years restoring hundreds of downtown historic buildings, making it one of the most photogenic colonial cities in all of Mexico. At sunset you can wander at the "malecon" (seaside promenade) past silent rusty cannons that once defended the port. Friendly “campechano” residents are eager to help the few foreign tourists that visit. If you would like to learn more about Campeche, join a city tour (contact us for rates). Alternatively, visit nearby archaeological sites such as Edzna, Calakmul, or Uxmal, either independently by yourself or with a guided tour (please see our selection of tours).
Included: Breakfast
Take a bus to proceed to Merida (approx. 3 hours). Merida is the capital and largest city in Yucatan state and the cultural and financial capital of the region. It’s a modern, cosmopolitan city with museums, art galleries, restaurants, shops and boutiques. It is considered one of the most important places to experience the Mayan heritage. The city was founded in 1542 by Francisco de Montejo “el Mozo” (the son), and built on the site of the ancient Maya city T’ho, meaning “city of five hills”. After the arrival of the Spanish, the ancient city’s main pyramids were destroyed and their ruins used in the construction of Merida’s cathedral and other important buildings. The city boasts the second-largest historic center in Mexico; only Mexico City’s historic center is larger. Mérida gets its nickname, La Ciudad Blanca (The White City), from the predominance of white limestone that was used as a building material, although locals today will tell you that it also relates to the cleanliness of the city. As a result of its strong Spanish influence and isolation from other parts of Mexico, Merida developed a distinct cultural and political identity. The unique culture and traditions that you’ll experience when you travel to Merida are overwhelmingly apparent in the local dress, language, cuisine and celebrations. After arriving, rest of the day at leisure. Make sure you´ll see Montejo avenue, the monument to Motherland, the main square, the cathedral, the government palace, and try some typical local cuisine.

Included: Breakfast
Free day to explore more of this beautiful city and the Yucatán region, which offers interesting towns, Mayan ruins, cenotes (underwater sinkholes), beaches with flamingo colonies, and much more. One of the nearby attractions is the world famous archaeological zone of Chichen Itza. Chichen Itza was one of the largest and most prominent Maya cities. Nowadays, Chichen Itza is undoubtedly the best-preserved Maya site on the Yucatan peninsula, and it was recently declared one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Chichen Itza can easily be visited on a day trip from Merida. Please contact us to inform about tours available from Merida.
Included: Breakfast
Take the bus and travel further to Cancun (approx. 3 hours). Cancun is a world-renowned beach destination, located on the Caribbean Coast and the final destination of this itinerary.
