How much time in advance should I make my reservation?

The availability of our services is subject to demand and season. Therefore, we recommend you to book with anticipation, especially in times of high season as transfers, tours, circuits and hotels are always subject to availability.

Is the availability of the services guaranteed?

We will always be doing our greatest effort to deliver all the services offered on our webpage. However, some of these services we need to reconfirm in advance with our local providers. In case of unavailability, our system will automatically show this information online or you might as well be informed via e-mail.

I have not received a reply to my emails

We aim to respond to each query we receive within 12 to 24 hours. Some email accounts might mark booking emails such as those sent by Mexico Finder as “spam”. Please check your spam folder. If you haven’t received a reply to your query within 48 hours, please send an email to bookings@mexicofinder.com.

When do I receive a confirmation for my reservation?

After having made your reservation and the acceptance of your credit card payment, we will send you the confirmation via e-mail. Please revise the voucher well to avoid any discrepancies.

There is an error in the reservation. What should I do?

It is very important that you carefully select your destination, date and number of passengers. In case you receive a confirmation with wrong details, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. What should I do if I do not receive the confirmation email?

What do I do with my travel documents?

You have to show your travel voucher (the confirmation email) to the respective local operator when checking in.

Can I change my reservation? What costs would that have?

Yes, you can change your reservation. However, each cancellation or change might generate costs. Please see our Change & Cancellation Policy in the Terms & Conditions section for further information.
Fees can vary and depend on the service provider, dates, etc. In order to change your reservation, please send an e-mail tobookings@mexicofinder.com and mention your name, reservation number and concern.

Does my booking include a travel insurance?

In general, holiday packages do not include insurance. Some activities might include travel insurance but this will only cover you during this particular activity. In case a travel insurance is included in a service this should be clearly indicated. We always advise arranging a complete travel insurance before traveling to Mexico. How can I cancel a reservation?

How do I create, manage, and delete my account on Mexico Finder?

If you want to keep track of your bookings you can simply log in on My Bookings with your username and password and you will see a list of your bookings. If you want to save your personal data, save searches for future use, save travel preferences, and apply promotions, you can also create an account with Mexico Finder.

To create an account, click the Register link at the top of every page on Mexico Finder and provide the requested information.

Once you have created your account, you can modify your settings at any time by signing in and clicking My account, also found in the top of every page on Mexico Finder. From here you can sign up for our newsletter, save your payment options, and update your personal data and travel preferences.

I'm not sure if my booking was processed, did you get my booking request?

Please send an email to bookings@mexicofinder.com with your booking details including the name of the travel service, the name(s) of the passenger(s) and the date of travel. We will check to see if we have received your booking request successfully and we contact you via email to confirm the status of your booking.

I am leaving for my trip soon and I will not have access to my emails. How do I receive a confirmation and my voucher?

Normally, if your booking and payment has been successfully completed, we automatically send you an email with the confirmation. I keep getting a credit card error whilst trying to book, what do I do?

Many services offered on Mexico Finder no longer require a paper voucher. Many service providers now accept e-vouchers, which allow you to present your voucher on a smartphone. For most hotels and activities, you just need your name and your confirmation number when checking in. However, it’s always best to print your travel documents, not just for the local service providers but also for your own convenience.

Is there a contact number at the destination for me to call?

Where do I exchange my vouchers?

Your voucher (confirmation email) must be seen as your ticket. Simply present this at the destination when you register for the service you booked, together with a valid photo ID for verification.

What should I do if there are unrecognized or unauthorized charges on my payment card bill?

We will ask a few questions. Please provide card number, date, and amount (as displayed on your credit card bill) so we can locate the booking. Also report unauthorized charges to your card company.

In case someone else made a booking for you, when the credit card and booking data do not belong to the same person, we will contact the credit card holder to verify the authorization of the payment. If you are not the cardholder, please have the cardholder call so that we can verify that the booking is authorized.

If, after reviewing the details of the booking, you do not recognize the charge or believe that it is unauthorized or made fraudulently, we will make note of the event. You may be asked to provide your name, email address, mailing address, and phone number where we can reach you if we need additional information. If the card was used without your authorization, you should also report this to your card issuer immediately, if necessary ask for a replacement card, and follow any instructions to file a dispute. How does it work with the room configuration in hotels?

* SINGLE: One bed or 2 beds for 1 person.
* DOUBLE: 1 King-size or queen-size bed.
* TWIN: 2 Individual beds.
* TRIPLE/QUADRUPLE/ETC: Indicates the number of people that can stay in one room.
Important: the majority of rooms do not have 3 separate beds. They usually only provide 2 matrimonial beds. Depending on each hotel the following options can be offered:

* Room only (European Plan): In this case, only the room is included in your price. No breakfast.
* Breakfast included: Includes room and breakfast. Depending on the hotel and rate, the breakfast can vary between Continental Breakfast (a light breakfast usually consisting of bread, butter, jam, fruit, juice and coffee), American Breakfast (bread, jam, eggs, bacon and/or sausage, juice and coffee) or Buffet Breakfast.
* Half Board (Modified American Plan): Includes accommodation as well as lunch or dinner.
* Full Board (American Plan): Includes accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
* All Inclusive Plan: Generally includes accommodation, food and drinks 24 hours, and other services (may vary depending on the hotel).

How do I find a hotel with particular amenities, such as a swimming pool, pet friendliness, or Internet access?

You can filter your hotel search results to show only hotels with the amenities you prefer by selecting them your preferences in the left-hand column. The hotel results will automatically update with every selection you make. If you are looking for amenities at a specific hotel, review the hotel details of your selected hotel.

Are there special packages available for honeymoons?

Mexico Finder does not hold or reserve a selected fare for booking at a later date. To ensure you receive the fare you found on Mexico Finder, you need to book immediately.

When will I be charged for my hotel reservation?

The total amount of the hotel reservation will have to be paid on our website when booking, in order to confirm the reservation.

How do I know my hotel reservation is confirmed?

If I need to cancel my hotel reservation, will I receive a refund?

In general, the earlier you let us know, the better. While Mexico Finder does not charge fees for changes or cancellations, hotels may impose non-refundable rates, which means you will lose the amount paid for the hotel, or fees that we have to pass to you (this could be the cost of one night or a percentage of the total amount paid). Generally, such fees are highest when cancellations are made within 48 hours of the scheduled arrival date. Exact details may vary by hotel. What do I need to bring to the hotel to check in?

Print out your booking confirmation and take it with you. Don´t forget your passport.

Will I be charged if I miss my reservation or if I arrive late?

If you miss your reservation you will usually be charged for the night(s) you missed or a penalty fee (this could be the cost of one night for missing your reservation), depending on the cancellation policy of the hotel.  If you fail to notify the hotel about a late arrival, your reservation may be canceled. What is the minimum age requirement to check in at a hotel?

For most hotels, the primary guest must be at least 18 years of age on the day of check-in.

Are there additional charges if I bring extra guests to the hotel at the last minute?

The rate you were offered during the booking is determined by the type of room you reserved and by the number of people on your reservation. If more people attempt to check in than originally reserved and paid for, the hotel may either not be able to accommodate the additional guests (due to room size and availability), or may charge for an extra bed. If the hotel is already fully booked, additional guests may need to find another hotel. What languages are available for the tours offered on Mexico Finder?

We always indicate in which languages activities can be booked. Usually, these are Spanish and English. In case you are interested in a different language, please contact us to check whether other languages are available. This may have an extra cost.

I am a single traveler. Can I participate in the tour for the price as offered on Mexico Finder?

Yes, of course! Most tours are offered with a minimum of 1 participant. If 2 or more participants are required we will clearly indicate this. Unfortunately in some cases it will be necessary to pay for the required number of persons (for example, for a tour with a minimum of 2 persons, you will pay double).

How do I add activities to an existing itinerary on Mexico Finder?

You can simply make a new booking with the same username and we will add the added activities to your bookings. If you want to keep track of your bookings you can also log in on My Bookings with your username and password and you will see a list of your bookings.

Is the departure guaranteed?

Many tours have a pick-up service. Usually the driver will meet you at your hotel lobby. We advice you to inform the hotel reception about your tour. Some tours work with a meeting point. In this case, we give you information about the meeting point on our website as well as in your confirmation email. If there is no (detailed) information about the meeting point on our website, the meeting point will be confirmed during the booking process. Also the pick-up time, or time to register at the meeting point, will be confirmed during the booking process. Do I require any sort of photo identification when checking in?

Most operators require valid photo ID such as a passport, driver’s license or any other form of identification displaying a current photo of the lead traveler in the booking. Sometimes it can be enough to show your confirmation email. We recommend to bring both.

What do I do if nobody picks me up?

First of all, before travelling to your destination, please verify your reservation and travel documents to be sure if this service is included. Normally, if it concerns a tour, you will be picked up in the hotel lobby. If it concerns a transfer from the airport to your hotel, you will meet our representative in the arrival area of the airport after having collected your luggage. A representative will wait for you with an identification banner with your name on it. For transfers from the hotel to the airport you will be picked up at the hotel lobby/entrance. In case you cannot find our representative, please get in immediate contact with us by calling us at +52 55 3689 7600. We will find a solution as quickly as possible.

What do I do if I am delayed for my tour?

Refer to the contact details listed in your confirmation email and contact the local tour operator for instructions. If you cannot reach the local operator, contact Mexico Finder by calling +52 55 3689 7600, from Mondays to Fridays from 07:00am till 08:00pm and on Saturdays from 09:00am till 02:00pm (Central Standard Time Mexico). There is no guarantee that you will be able to join your tour on a later departure, as they may be fully booked. Please allow sufficient time, whenever possible, to be on time at the meeting point.

What happens if the tour is cancelled due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances?

Unless the weather directly effects the travel service you have booked, all travel services will operate as scheduled. In the case a service provider cancels a tour on the day, usually a tour will be rescheduled. If not, or if you are not able to participate at a later time, please let us know by sending an email to bookings@mexicofinder.com, including your tour details and reservation number, and we will reimburse your payment.

What type of vacation packages are available on Mexico Finder?

Mexico Finder offers various types of touring holidays and vacation packages. Touring holidays are journeys that take you from place to place, with overnight stays. This is the perfect way to discover more of Mexico. They can be organized for individuals or for a group, either in shared basis or in private basis. One special form of a touring holiday is a self-drive package. Self-drive packages usually only include hotels, breakfasts, and a roadmap. The car can be reserved separately. Vacation packages or short breaks usually only include a hotel, transfers, and possibly also excursions, at one or more destinations. We offer themed packages, for example honeymoons, golf packages, or scuba diving packages.

Please note that all touring holidays and vacation packages can be tailor-made, this is what makes us different from other online agencies. What is the difference between tours, touring holidays, and packages?

We consider tours (or excursions) to be a one day trip. We also offer overnight tours. These are tours with an overnight stay at one destination that is different from the departure destination. If there are more overnight stays, at various destinations, traveling from place to place, we call it a touring holiday. These are often of a more adventurous nature. We consider a vacation package to be a holiday with overnight stays at one or more destinations, usually with transfers and possibly with some excursions included, sometimes with a certain theme (for example, honeymoons, golf packages, scuba diving packages, etc.). A short version of this we call short break.

What is the benefit of booking individual/private services?

In case you prefer private services, you have the advantage of deciding which places you would like to visit and how much time you would like to spend at each of these places. You have more flexibility. It is your personal, tailor-made tour or program. The tour guide will only be there for you, your family, or group of friends.

What is the benefit of organized group travel?

We offer various options of circuits with fixed dates. To run the tour a minimum of 2 persons is required. Up to 15-20 persons can take part in a circuit. Enjoy the most beautiful places of Mexico in company of other travelers from all around the world. Organized group travel usually is a lot cheaper and can give you the opportunity to get to know like-minded people from different countries, or even to make friendships for a lifetime. How is the quality of the hotels included in a touring holiday?

We carefully select all hotels included in our touring holidays. This selection is based on our experience, client feedback, rates, location, and services. For some touring holidays, we offer the package with 3 star, 4 star, and 5 star hotels, so you can select the hotels category of your preference. In private programs, all hotels can be agreed according to your preferences.

Can I add activities or a beach extension to an existing program offered on Mexico Finder?

Yes! We offer optional activities and options for a (beach) extension on our website. If you are interested in an extension and you cannot find it on Mexico Finder, please send an email to bookings@mexicofinder.com. We will quote it and send you prices. The possibility of adding activities to an existing program (in shared basis) depends on travel schedules. In most ready-to-go programs, activities are already included. Does my program include a travel insurance?

How do I find and print my booking confirmation?

After having received your reservation and payment, we will directly send you the confirmation of your booking with reservation number and vouchers. We recommend to print out this email. What options do I have for car rental?

When reserving a rental car, you have several options and preferences to select:

* Choose pick-up location. Here you have the option to select a different drop-off location or to return the car to the same location. Drop-off at a different location usually has extra charges.

* Choose dates and pick-up and drop-off times.

* You can filter the search results by number of passengers, number of doors, type of transmission, optional extras, car rental agent, and type of car (mini, economy, compact, standard, van, SUV).

What are the requirements for renting a car?

The minimum age for renting a car varies by rental company. For most companies, renters need to be 25 or older. For drivers between 21 and 24, an additional fee may apply. You should also possess a full drivers license. If your license is not in Roman alphabet (i.e. Arabic, Greek, Russian or Chinese) you need to bring an International Driver license and your domestic license. A deposit amount will be held against your card(s) for the period of the booking. Credit card(s) must be in the name of the main driver. In the event that you fail to present a valid credit card or lack of sufficient funds available on the credit card, the car rental agent may refuse to release the vehicle. In these instances, no funds paid will be reimbursed. Please also present a valid photo-ID and a printed version of your voucher upon arrival at the rental desk. Additional drivers must have a valid driver´s license on their own name. Extra charges apply for additional drivers. This option can be booked when checking in. Your vehicle will be supplied with a full tank of fuel. To avoid incurring fuel charges you will need to return it full.

Can I hold a reservation for booking at a later time?

We understand holiday plans can change. Therefore, if you change your mind after having reserved a car with us, Mexico Finder does not charge any fees for cancellations or changes. However, Mexico Finder works with several partners who do charge fees. Our car rental partner charges us a fee of USD $ 35 for each cancellation, which will be passed on to you. Extra charges will apply if you cancel 7 days after booking or within 48 hours before the rental of the car. The vehicles displayed and models listed are the most common vehicles used by our car rental partners. Neither Mexico Finder nor the rental car companies are able to guarantee the specific model you will receive at the rental counter. Mexico Finder will send all the details of your car rental reservation to the car rental company, but we do not have information on which exact models are available on any given date. Although we cannot guarantee that the rental car company will have the exact car model you requested available at pick-up, the rental company should always be able to provide a vehicle of the same size and class as you requested.
